There are times when you want to make a specific product on your Shopify store visible only to a limited set of customers — for example, member-only products or pre-release products for VIPs.
This article explains how to use the Shopify app "RuffRuff Order Limits" to set up a product page so that only people who know the password can view it. No theme code changes are required, and the theme is not affected even if you uninstall the app — making this a safe method.
What Is the Shopify App "RuffRuff Order Limits"?
RuffRuff Order Limits is a Shopify app that lets you implement a variety of purchase limits all in one. For example, a single app can achieve the following types of purchase limits:
- Quantity limits
- Multiple limits
- Price limits
- Customer limits
- Bundle limits
- Payment limits
- Delivery limits
- Access limits (access restrictions)
Since the app was developed by a Japanese company, it offers robust Japanese-language support, and it has also earned Shopify's official mark of highest quality, "Built for Shopify."
Unlike conventional access-restriction apps, it does not make any code changes to your theme, so you can use it with peace of mind — there is no risk of leftover code or theme damage after uninstalling.
