However, standard Shopify alone doesn't make it easy to set up flexible discount conditions such as "20% off for logged-in members only" or "10% off for guests." What You'll Achieve
By completing the setup in this article, the following discounts will be applied to specific products depending on the status of the user who accesses them.
- Guests (customers who are not logged in) get 10% off
- Members (customers who are logged in) get 20% off

Setup Instructions
[Preparation] Install the App
This article introduces how to set up discounts separately for members and non-members using the Shopify app "RuffRuff Order Bonus." If you haven't installed RuffRuff Order Bonus yet, please install it first.
What Is RuffRuff Order Bonus?
RuffRuff Order Bonus is a Shopify app that lets you run a wide variety of discount campaigns based on virtually any condition.
For example, you can run discounts such as the following:
- Free shipping on first order
- Volume discounts
- Limited-time sales for specific collections only
- Free shipping on purchases over ¥10,000
- Half-price shipping for 5+ items, free shipping for 10+ items
and more

Enable the App Embed
(1) Click "Enable app embed in your live theme" from the Setup guide on the app's top page.
(2) From the select box, choose the Shopify theme you want to install the app on.
(3) Click "Enable app."
(4) Enable "RuffRuff Order Bonus" on the left side of the theme editor.
(5) Click "Save" in the top right of the screen.
[Step 1] Create a Discount Campaign for Guests
(1) Select "Discounts" from the left menu of the app.
(2) Click "Create campaign."
(3) Enter any text into the Campaign name field for internal management.
In this example, we entered "Guests get 10% off."
(4) Enter any text into the Discount title field, which is shown to customers.
In this example, we entered "GUEST 10% OFF."
ℹ️ This will be displayed to customers as a coupon code.
(5) Set the period you want to run the campaign in Active dates.
(6) Add a "Customer login status" condition under Eligibility conditions.
(7) For the Customer login status condition, select "Customer is not logged in."
(8) Configure the following under the bonus settings:
- Select Product discount
- Select "Percentage"
- Enter "10%"
- For the target products, select "Specific products" and add the products you want to discount
(9) Leave all options unchecked under Combinations of discounts.
(10) Click "Save."
(11) Click "Activate."
[Step 2] Create a Discount Campaign for Members
(1) Select "Discounts" from the left menu of the app.
(2) Click "Create campaign."
(3) Enter any text into the Campaign name field for internal management.
In this example, we entered "Members get 20% off."
(4) Enter any text into the Discount title field, which is shown to customers.
In this example, we entered "MEMBER 20% OFF."
ℹ️ This will be displayed to customers as a coupon code.
(5) Set the period you want to run the campaign in Active dates.
(6) Add a "Customer login status" condition under Eligibility conditions.
(7) For the Customer login status condition, select "Customer is logged in."
(8) Configure the following under the bonus settings:
- Select Product discount
- Select "Percentage"
- Enter "20%"
- For the target products, select "Specific products" and add the products you want to discount
(9) Leave all options unchecked under Combinations of discounts.
(10) Click "Save."
(11) Click "Activate."
Verifying the Behavior
(1) Confirm that when a guest adds the target product to their cart, the 10% off coupon code "GUEST 10% OFF" is automatically applied.
(2) Confirm that when a member adds the target product to their cart, the 20% off coupon code "MEMBER 20% OFF" is automatically applied.
